Initial training will begin on October 1, 2012. Training conducted for 9 months, equivalent to 1,174 hours of lessons. The first six months filled with theory in Solo Techno Park with instructors from GMF. Then the next three months of field practice in aircraft maintenance facility GMF in Cengkareng, Tangerang.

The first phase of registration opened from July 30 to August 30, 2012. Terms of the registrant is male, high school graduates majoring in science or vocational high school majoring in electrical, electricity, machinery, or automobile.

The average value of the registrant at least 7 in each of the subjects tested in the national final exams and specialized English of at least 8. Apply a maximum of 21 years old and unmarried. Then the minimum height of 160 centimeters, physically and mentally healthy and not color blind.

Total training costs Rp 55 million, which will subsidize GMF USD 27.5 million. Then the rest is borne by the trainee. If coming from poor families, provided the financing facilities from banks that repaid when it works.

If passed the training, students are likely to be recruited GMF with a bond system for 5 years. For the first phase, "We will accept 24 students," said Darsono. By the end of this year he plans to accept 94 students.

Chief Operation Officer GMF Sudaryo Agus said the development of the aviation world so rapidly, hence the need for aircraft maintenance workers also increased. "This year needs 4,500 aircraft maintenance personnel. For Garuda aircraft maintenance alone 500 people per year, "he said.
